Full Version: Grow Text Box To Fit Data

I have changed the design of a report to allow text boxes to grow to fit data. However, I can't figure out how to automatically grow the vertical lines that are used as borders of the fields. Is there a way to do this? I have attached a .pdf of my file. The third row illustrates my question.

Thank you!

Change all fields to cangrow

I did that for all of the data fields, but the line properties do not offer the option.

Why don't you format the Text Box, so that the Border Style is Solid, that way you do not need to have a seperate verticle line like apparently you have.

Thank you - I'll try that.

Thanks - that worked - with one problem: how do I get all of the fields in that row to "grow" so that the entire row stays the same height? When I tried this, only the field that needed to grow did, which made the bottom borders of the other fields in the row still the height of a single line.

C Olds,

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner.

The only way I could do what you want is by creating a Tabular type Report. By doing this, it makes all the Fields the same height. Then I simply clicked on the last Field bottom right corner and dragged the bottom right corner and made all the boxes as large as needed. Since the Fields are in a Tabular layout it should make all the Fields larger.

Sorry for the confusion!

Thank you - I will try that!
