hi any one

trying to create a query that looks at 2 tbls

in tb1 i have 1 feild and it list colours and in tb2 the same

what i want is the ability to see only results where 2 feilds are equal ie "red" in tbl 1 and "red" in tbl2
and where they are equal "do not show them"

i guess its like a not like criteria but instead of typing a fixed criteria in the QBE gid i want it to look at another tbl

many thanks in advance for your help

Just join the two tables on the common field.

Could you perhaps give a bit more of an example? Suppose Table1 has records with Red, Yellow, Orange, Green; and Table2 has Orange, Green, Blue, Violet. Do you just want to see Red and Yellow? Or all four records, because the "Orange" in Table1 is not equal to "Blue" or "Violet". How do you want to match?
