so am out of words, literally. but besides contact person what else would you name your table that contains names birthdates and other basic individual information?

Call me old-fashioned, but it sounds like you're describing human beings, otherwise known as "people"...

tblPeople
PersonID [Autonumber, Primary Key]
strFirstName
strLastName
strMiddleName
dteBirthdate
etc.

would you use it for logging in purposes? just for email type stuff?

what you actually call the table, in my opinion. just has to mean something to you and others who may take over the DB.

You could use. TBLUserInformation

I have a table tblusernames as well as a table called tblauthorizedusers

I am sure you will get as many different suggestions as you get replies.
