Hi,

I am trying to permanently increase the size of the window that pops up when you click the "Open" icon in Excel. I have attached a screen shot of the window that I am referencing.

First, I will start off by saying I know how to temporarily increase the size of this window. It's easy. Just click the lower right hand corner of the box that I have circled in red in my screenshot and drag the box to be larger.

The new, larger window size will "stick" for the remainder of the active Windows session. However, once I restart the computer or log off, this change is lost. The window goes back to it's original size.

How can I permanently change the size of this window so that it will be unaffected by a computer restart or user logoff?

Thanks for the help.

Hi,

This is a Windows OS Dialog rather than anything specific to Excel (ie - its the same window that opens for every other "open file" command from any windows application).

Unfortunately, I don't believe there's any feasible way to handle this. I've long wished that the open file dialog was customizable with some default settings as well (mostly the filelist defaulting to List instead of Thumbnail...)

Cheers,
