Full Version: Hiding The Highlighted Cursor In A Sub Form
UtterAccess Forums > Microsoft® Access > Access Forms

I have a form with a subform. The subform is in continuous mode.
What I can't work out what to do is to stop the cursor highlighting the first field in the sub menu, Its just there to display data
How do I stop this ?

Hi Mick. Are users supposed to be able to select the text or do something with them? If not, you could disable those controls, so they don't get the focus.
That's what I need, How do i disable the controls? I tried everything i could think of
Select the control in design view and in the properties window, under the data tab, set the Enabled property to No and the Locked property to Yes.
Also note that you'll have to do this for all Textboxes, Comboboxes, etc. If you do this to the first Control, the cursor will simply move along and be blinking in the second Control, when the Form opens! To set these properties for all Controls at one fell swoop:

In Form Design View
  1. Press and hold down <Shift>
  2. Left-Click on all appropriate Controls
  3. Right-Click then click on Properties
  4. Go to the Data Tab
  5. Set the Enabled and Locked Properties as DB guy instructed
