Hello,

I am trying to run a query that would take all of the dates in my database and group them into their respective months. The following is a scenario of what I am trying to accomplish:

Reason
No Shipment $25 5/1/03
No Shipment $100 5/10/03
No Shipment $100 6/5/03
Late Shipment $75 6/10/03
Late Shipment $50 7/15/03
Late Shipment $125 7/21/03

What I would like to do is group by "Reason" all of the dollars that happened in a certain month into their respective months (i.e., everything that happend in 5/03 would be sumed in "May" so May would equal $125 for the reason of "No Shipment".

Please help

If you create a Totals query, have this as a calculated field:

format([YourDateFieldHere],"mm/yyyy")

and set it to Group by....set your dollar field to sum, and your reason to group by, should do the trick...

Hi,

In Query design view type under date criteria between #5/1/03# and #5/31/03#. Under reason press totals icon and select group by. Under money select sum and under date where. It will give reason by sum of money by month. Date may not be display. In report you can display by month. Is it clear.....
