I have read the books and studied old database that are used as templates. I would like to run reports thru a form but am not really sure how to begin. Would need some good help with this. I would like to be able to ask it to filter different things for differnt commands.

If you want to build reports in Access, you have to have a table, query or sql-statement as recordsource
Maybe its better that you start building reports by using the report wizard..
If the result is not what you want.. modify the report by using the report design.
To start a report from a form, you can create a command button and add in the on-click event a macro,or you can also use the command button wizard where some possiblities for using a report from a form are available.
