Just curious...

Is it possible/likely that tables could just "disappear" from a db? Someone in my office claims that tables just disappeared from the db for no reason. I know tables can be deleted and never recovered (learned that one the hard way), but I've never heard of tables just disappearing. Any thoughts?

Never come across it (unless it was the phantom deleter!)

Have you checked to see if they've been "hidden" (Tools > Options > 'View' tab > tick "Hidden Objects")

PS. Why would your users need access to the tables anyway? This is one of the main reasons for splitting your db - stop them meddling with it!

I experience a similar thing with A2k from time to time, the list of tables "disappears" from the window, they come back if you switch to queries/reports/forms and then switch back to tables.
