I have a tracking number that is 22 characters in length which is being copied from a warehouse database system and I want to paste it into an excel spreadsheet.
What I get when I paste is this .... 9.61E + 21
How come I cannot just enter in all 22 numeric characters and not have excel re-format it some other way?
Thanks,
Steve

Thanks but there is still some problem. The string goes to all zeroes after 15 digits.
Any other ideas?

an idea would be ...before moving data into Excel, create a new field based on your original 22numeric field and add an ' before. So 12345... will be '12345.... This way Excel will see those values as text.

I do appreciate that ... and that does work.
Thanks!
