Sorry if i sound stupid but i'm pretty new to Access. I have a main menu form. I have created buttons using the wizard that allow me to:

1. Add a new record
2. Edit existing records
3. Delete existing records

I have a record form that has fields that a user enters to create a record. But when i open up the form using form view, when i click "add new record" button, it doesn't bring up a blank record form. I didn't add code and i'm not sure what i would have to add. Also, i don't know if they are subforms. I've read in help you need to make one a main form and the rest sub forms? if i do, how do i change what type of form it is? Thanks so much!

If you check the code behind the command button the wizard added, what do you find?

The best thing to lear about main and subform is to try with the form wizard ..
For a good construction, you need also a good structure in your tables to receive a good main subform

I also advice you to buy a good book an Acces (See => Recommended Reading Access 2000

Good luck

It might help if you compact and zip your db (500k max. size) and post it here so someone can see what you are doing. I am not sure you need subforms, but it depends on the type of database you are creating, etc. If we can see what you are trying to do it will be easier to help you.
