I have a db that was first developed in '95 and has about 28 reports in it, and because of the latest security patches from microsoft that my company pushed to our computers, I can not open in print or design view any of the reports, all i can see is the code and i have to access it indirectly. Has anyone experienced this or know how to fix it?? I am currently using office 2003 SP1. Please help!

Welcome to UA
Did you try a compact and repair?
Did you try to import all objects into a new database-file?
If that doesn't work, I hope you have a good backup from before the problems start.
If so you can import the reports from a good version
Just another question: so due to windows security patches it didn't work anymore or was it due to office security pathes? Does it only was in 1 specific application?

Yes i compacted and repaired, this is affecting all of my dbs, 5-6 different versions. I believe it is due to office security patches. THe problem is that Office XP is our company standard, and i am running Office 2003 in order to support my customers, so they were pushing office XP patches to my office 2003. I've tried everything i can think of, reinstalling office, reinstalling the dbs, looking at the db security, etc. I'm not sure what to do next, i may have to reburn my machine.

Can you recover the reports of a backup?
And what happens if you make new reports?

Just wanted to let you know that I have the same problem with my reports in Access. I found this forum from trying to find a solution. This has happened to me with all Access databases - old and new - even ones that have been created by me on this computer, this version of access (2003) and only ever used by me. I have tried doing a repair - no success - I don't know how to fix this! So if you ever figured your problem out, I'd like to know how you fixed it?

I got my problem fixed. So, maybe this might help you as well. I am on a network. If I log in to my computer as someone else, I can open Access Reports. Therefore I deleted my profile and re-created it. The reports now work again for me! So, if you are on a network, you may want to delete your profile - on the server - and on your workstation - and recreate it.

I discovered a knowledge base article at Microsoft that mentioned that if you change your default printer that it will remedy the situation with printing reports in Access 2003.. I have found this works in all cases.. they did not say which printers worked or which to choose, but we have found that just changing the default printer fixed the problem.. probably why logging on as somebody else worked...
