Full Version: Pathetic simple - but I just can't get it!!

I have a simple case of being bamboozled by the ridiculously simple.
The attached form has a total control in the footer. Do you think I can get it to work...... crazy.gif
Can someone who is not having the same kind a' day tell me where I'm going wrong. I get it to work on the qty controls but not the currency formatted controls. At least I think that's the reason.
I hope lack of table is not a problem. Being a simple thing I figured the form will be enough.
Thanks
Alan
PS. Last night I got a tricky query sorted out and working and now I get stumpded by this.....Access....pah!

Bit difficult to tell what the problem is without any data, but try
Sum(nz([txtLinePriceNet]) ,0 )
For
=Sum(nz(([txtLinePrice]-[txtLineDiscount]),0))
JayNoelOlimpo
=Sum(nz([txtLinePriceNet]),0)
Could you place the tables with few datas in it ...

Hi
Your may also want to go back a far as txtLinePrice
=(Nz([fldQtyRcvd],0)*Nz([fldPrice],0))

thanks for the replies. If nothing suggested works I'll drop off the table as well. No big deal.
The calculation is an unbound on the form and is not stored. Anybody regulalry on this site and has not picked up that storing calcs is a no-no then....nuff said.

Can't have a total in a Continous form Footer ... for data is based on the on current record ...

One way to display the right Footer is in the report ....

Hi Alan
You will have to revaluate your form totals:
You Cannot Sum Calculated Controls in Forms or Reports.

Change the calculated values in the footer textbox to the calculations:
Sum(nz(([fldQtyRcvd]*[fldPrice]),0)-nz((([fldQtyRcvd]*[fldPrice])*[fldDiscount]),0)/100)
Bit more arduous, but works.

Indeed Larry,
hey "obviously" never thought of people wanting to do calculations on calculations - but then, lots of things that seem "obvious" to me are impossible or difficult in Access - my list is up to about six now. Some I've managed a workaround, and some I've had to abandon altogether.
There are times I wonder why I bother crazy.gif confused.gif mad.gif
