I have created a subform on my mainform for additional data entry. The parent and child fields are linked with ResvID. I want the data on the subform linked with the mainform. However I do not want to use the extra real estated with the subform so I want to be able to open and close it with a button. It would be like having a subform but it would just not be setting on the mainform. Thank you.

Have you thought of using the TAB control. This will allow you to use the same real estate.

I have multiple subforms and controls on the main form...I would have to do a major redesign of the mainform that it is why I was looking for the button approach.

Then they truly would not be subforms if you open them up in a seperate form. Sometime, even though we do not like it, it is best to redesign a form to make it work. Fortunately you can just cut and paste the subforms into each page of the tab control. so it should make it reletivly quick. Pardon the spelling, I use spell check a lot.

Thanks...I will give the Tabs a try

couldn't you also insert a subform into the tabs as well? and tell the wizard which form you want as your subform?
erwardell
Yes you could do that, but if you already have the subforms on the form then it is easier to just cut and paste.
