the thing is i am trying to scan a picture directly in an image control in a form but i can't, currently i have to scan the image then save after that insert it in the control, while scanning directly from the form will save all this headach

What OS are you using? Until XP there was a OCX that shipped with the OS that you can use.
A twain OCX is for retrieveing an image from a scanner source only. You have to control what is done with the image once it is retrieved.

Are you saving the image into a database?

I would avoid ever storing an image inside a database.

I agree with you on that one... Any amount of pictures will bloat the database..
