I am trying to create a subreport with a one to many relationship based on the "name" field. But, no matter what I do, when previewing the report, it asks me to put in the name (already supplied in my table!) I have tried creating a relationship, going through the subreport wizard, changing the subreports name field to the table's field. Anything else anyone can think of?

My suggestion is to link the data in the subrpt using keys.

Thus, say you have a ProjectID as the main focus of the main report. Then you want to include say project mangers (more than one) in a subrpt. You'd link the sub to the main using the ProjectID.

I don't use wizards so I'm not sure what you're running into there . . . but once you've got the subrpt in the main, you can use the Data tab on subrpt properties sheet and link the keys there.

I'm not quite following you here, plus I'm not sure if that will solve the problem. What I have is a main report with demographic information. Then I have a billing subreports for the days we see the patients. (so, in the main report, the patient name is unique, but 5 subreports may have the same name.) What is supposed to happen is that only the subreports for the main report "name" field show up. But, it is asking me to put in this "name" field for the subreport, although it is included on the table.

Hey, I found a way around my problem. Instead of creating a subreport, I created a query with the information from both databases. Then, I created a report off that query. Now I can print out my billing instead of writing silly little cards!
