I've got two computers that I use to access the Web: one using Windows XP, IE8, and the other Windows 7, IE9. On the XP machine I can connect to UtterAccess, it stays logged in all the time, and I can click "My Discussions" with no problem.
On the newer box I must log in every time I open UtterAccess (even if I check the "remember me" checkbox); and clicking My Discussions brings up an error window saying there are no matches. Clicking the "Logged In As" John Vinson line does bring up my picture and my correct profile, and I'm seeing the VIP forum, so it knows who I am... but apparently only partially! Where might I look for the problem? |

Unfortunately, that is a known issue with IE9.
Past threads: http://www.UtterAccess.com/forum/Ie9-Working-t1970116.html http://www.UtterAccess.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1967857 http://www.UtterAccess.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1964221 AFAICT, there is no real permanent fixes other than not using IE9. |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/frown.gif) Thanks, BR. That's far from the only problem I'm having with IE9. There are some websites that don't like IE8 and insist that I upgrade... sheesh!
What browser would you recommend? |

I'm not the best person to ask because I don't surf on Windows. I use Chrome on Mac OS X which is quite serviceable.

I also switched to Chrome (on Windows) and never had any issues.
Just my 2 cents... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/2cents.gif) |

I've been playing with Chrome, FireFox and Safari and I think it's going to come down to a struggle between Chrome and FF with Chrome having an edge.

I'm using FireFox on a Linux box at work and I have to periodically clear the recent history (such as last hour) before clicking My Discussions, otherwise it doesn't update. The page refreshes, it just shows old data.
