Guess what! I think I found the solution to the extra space problem in my Form.

I didn't know this (and my Access book didn't mention it) but there seem to be two kinds of headers and footers: page and form. That big blank space is the page footer, and the space below (where my text box is) is the form footer.

So, I made a copy of my form to test changes which I'm doing now. Will let you know what happens.

Also, Access 2002 (XP) doesn't make the changes I want sometimes. When I want to change the color of a text box, it doesn't do it. Very strange...
