Access Web App

This page is a stub. Please help us by expanding or merging it with applicable content

An Access Web App is the web application creatable from the Access 2013 shell. This is not to be confused with the 2010 version, Access Web Database.

Access Web Apps are hosted on SharePoint (typically through an Office365 account, but can also be hosted in an OnPremise SharePoint farm). The Web App itself: data as well as all objects, are typically stored in a SQL Azure database (although with an OnPremise SharePoint farm, they could be configured to an OnPremise SQL Server database).

Having the data on SQL Azure allows us to connect to it from other applications for basic CRUD access.

For a general comparison between Web versions of Access, see Web Enabled Access.
