Greetings,

I was wondering if anybody has an idea if there are resources to work out Simplex Linear Programming tableau's without Solver in Excel.

I am working my way through some resources to self teach myself how to how solve these problems and was thinking there must be a way to do it in Excel without the built in resource. The long term goal is not to rely on complex spreadsheets for our blending programs at work.

Thanks in Advance

~mike

I found VB example https://www.extremeoptimization.com/QuickSt...rogramming.aspx. Unfortunately VBA does not have the math libraries to replicate this. I found VB6 code to calculate matrix multiplication without math libraries and adapted it to VBA http://www.freevbcode.com/ShowCode.asp?ID=6221. I performed comparison of matrix multiplication in Excel, in VBA using Excel math functions, and with VBA alone. The outputs were different in each. The VBA-only code had the greatest variance.

Mike,

Not sure if this is helpful, but here is a link to the steps involved with the Simplex method. It is English--the logic involved-not program code. If you are developing some code, then these steps and example may be helpful.

Also, here is a link to some youtube videos by PatrickJMT showing step by step development of Simplex method. I find his videos on math topics quite good and clear.

Good luck. Let us know how it goes.

Good luck with your project!
