I am purplexed. I am using access to update a Sharepoint list. Everything works fine except when I try to update a date field using ADO. I keep getting Run-time error '-2147217887 (80040e21)': "The field is too small to accept the amount of data you attempted to add. Try inserting or pasting less data." Here is the code I am using.
im rstTbl As New ADODB.Recordset
rstTbl.Open "FSRListing", CurrentProject.Connection, adOpenDynamic, adLockPessimistic, adCmdTable

Do Until rstTbl.EOF
If rstTbl![New Number] = Me.cboOpen And rstTbl!Status = "Active" Then
With rstTbl
![Hire Date] = Me.[Hire Date]
.Update
End With
End If
rstTbl.MoveNext
Loop
Set rstTbl = Nothing
What am I doing wrong?
I am using Access 2003 and Sharepoint Service 2003.

Have you tried converting the text off the form to be a date?
!--c1-->
CODE
[Hire Date] = CDate(Me.[Hire Date])

Just a shot into the darkness.

That's what I feared but it seemed a try.
I am out of idea at this point - sorry.
It's got to be something easy but apparently not so easy that my simple mind can grasp it.
