Posted by: ashraf_al_ani Oct 9 2016, 05:58 AM

Hi all
I am using ms access 2003 as a front end and ms SQL server 2000 as back end
i have a problem that happens with multiuser they can update the same record when it is opened by more than one at the same time
how can i prevent other users from editing the record when it is opened by one user?
best regards

I THINK that with a SQL back end, you can lock the record. -- But don't know the code.

I'm not sure you even need to worry about this. https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj856598(v=SQL.110).aspx when a user begins to edit them. https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/2008.04.blocking.aspx

What does it mean to say "...didn't succeed"? The code failed? It raised errors? You couldn't implement it? Or?

Please, more context regarding your question about refreshing the current record. Where, when, why?
