UtterAccess Forums _ News _ The Db Guy - A Posting Phenomenon!

Posted by: argeedblu Jul 1 2017, 11:23 AM

Since Joining UA in June, 2007, theDBguy, has posted an amazing 70,000 UA peer support posts. That translates to 7000 posts a year or an average of 20 per day. But it doesn't stop there because, behind the scenes, theDBguy is an Access Wiki and Forums moderator. It is impossible to calculate or even estimate the countless number of UA peers this whirlwind has assisted during his time here at UA. The best we can say is, congratulations, theDBguy, on achieving the 70,000 post milestone. On behalf of everyone here at UA, a hearfelt THANKS.

It's like watching a team of people work, except we know it's only one guy.

theDBGuy is not only prolific. He's right! Sometimes, when I think a poster has asked for the impossible, I just wait awhile and sure enough, along comes theDBGuy with a solution that works.

Hi Glenn. Welcome back (from vacation?) and thanks for your kind words.

George. I basically just repeat what I learned from you and the other amazing people here at UA.

I don't think I will be able to respond to a single post without the knowledge I gained from all of you!

Cheers and thanks to all my friends here at UtterAccess! cheers.gif

I just realized I have been with UtterAccess for ten years. It seems it was only yesterday. I guess time does really fly when you're having fun.

Seriously, that a lot of replies .....

Great Job Leo ... wink.gif

Hello, Ricky.

It's been an honor to learn from the best like you and Sir Jack. You two served as my inspirations who I wanted to emulate. I hope I made the two of you proud.

Thanks for all the encouragements throughout the years.

And a thank you from Cornwall UK. I don't post her that often, but when I do it's often TheDBGuy who sort things. Congrats on 70,000. That's a lot of finger time.

And a big thank you from me as well. You have helped me solve more problems than you know, both directly and through solutions you have provided to others. You are a huge reason that this site is the success that it is and enjoys the reputation that it does.

What can one say, whos been there for me in the dark of the night helping me solve a problem , my family thank dbGuy as well because when I have a problem nothing gets done until I solve it!
I lost count of the times when I have crept into bed at 3am and hubby has mumbled did you solve it and I have said yes the dbGuy helped and he praised you once again.
I got hit by a car 4 years ago and got double concussion and I needed to activate my mind again and I have always loved access and excel. I could not remember a lot of anything. I asked people for ideas to build some DB and excel and my husband came up with all sorts of things to make his work life easier so I started. I could not remember too much but dbGuy was patient with me explaining over and over again and because my mind was active I slowly got better and started to remember more things it also got me out of the depression I was in . So many people lost patience with me and made me feel stupid but not you dbGuy you made me feel like I was not going to be this way for the rest of my life you gave me hope.So not only are you awesome with all things access and excel you are an amazing person as well. I have so much to thank you for far beyond just access and excel

Allow me to add my congratulations as well for a completely mind boggling accomplishment. You have no idea how many times you have helped me solve a problem, either directly or from one of your answers to others via the archives, always with patience and with an explanation as to why something works the way it does. I have learned so much from you and look forward to continuing education.
