> Unwanted File Menu Appearing On Accde Front End, Access 2016

I created an encrypted split front/back end .accde file and the File Menu still appears visible and accessible to the end user (i.e. user can decrypt, encrypt, compact and repair etc.

When I go to File/Options/ customize ribbon there is no checkbox to disable the File menu.

I do not want the users to have access to the file menu.

Just recently back into Access development ... having done nothing too serious since circa Access 2007 so it is likely I am missing some crucial piece here.

Any tips greatly appreciated.

Thanks to all in advance.

Welcome to UtterAccess.

You will need to create a custom ribbon. Have you worked with ribbons before?

A good resource for ribbons is here.

Other resources are available; look for ribbon discussions and using "Start from Scratch".

Hi. Welcome to UA! welcome2UA.gif

I agree, custom ribbons would be the only way. However, some parts of the ribbons are just off limits. This blog article may or may not help. Good luck!

Thanks DBGuy and Grover.

I have not used customized ribbons but will check this out asap. Thank so much for the references, too
