I found a video on the net where for a multi-user network database the back end should be on a 'Shared folder'... however I have been using my split database back end on a network folder which users are not locked out of - but the folder is not specifically designated as 'Shared' per say. Is there a difference between using a 'Shared folder' and just a folder that users have access to on the company network?

Thanks.

Hi,

If there's any difference, it might just be a technical one. For example, if anyone can access a network folder, one can argue that the folder is "shared" but without a designated "share name," then one might argue it's not a true shared resource.

PO-TAH-TOE / PO-TAY-TOE

Just my 2 cents...
