Just to clear something up Fields are in tables/queries and Controls are in forms. Fields can be assigned to Controls.
Many will say then why does Microsoft provide a Field List ?
The Field List is to provide the fields in the table or query that the form is bound to. When you select a Field from that list to add to the form, it is assigned to a Control, and it is that Control that is added to the form. The new Control is now bound to the Field that was selected from the 'Field List'.
