Hello friends

I want to understand these commands in Table Datasheet (before delete - after update)

is possible to use before delete to copy record to another table for example

or

display simple msgbox for after update

I think you are looking at table Data Macros. Google the topic.

Before Delete and After Update are form events. You can put code in these events to send message boxes or update tables if you want to.

They are also Data Macros available when viewing a table in Datasheet, as OP indicated.

But projecttoday makes a good point. Those actions might not be possible in DataMacros and will have to use a form and its events.

@Robert, Access DataMacros are Access' (or rather ACE's) equivalent of table Triggers in other RDBMS's.

They can be used for auditing, enforcing a kind of check constraint, massaging input data etc without needing a form and its associated events.
