The system we use right now for our manufacturing maintenance programs is not working well for us. It is a system where you can set up recurring preventive maintenance tasks and have users put in tickets to get something fixed. Is anyone using Access to do anything like that?

I don't have that specific application at hand, but it is very much in Access' wheelhouse to create that kind of application. Maybe a search on DuckDuckGo, Bing or Google will turn up examples.

If you have a Tally/Numbers table in your database, then creating recurring events is stupid easy. Post some dummy data and I can show you how. (As can most folks here).
