I have split a database and stored the backend on the ‘Home’ network on my PC and have sent a front end to my Laptop.
Back end name Direct v18 - 200318_be
Front end name Direct v18 - 200318 FE LT (1)
I have Networks named Desktop-MAMOBT which I believe is the laptop and HOME which is the PC
Whenever I try to open 2000318 FE LT (1) on the laptop I get the message
‘C:\users\mick\documents\d-clink Database\Direct v18 - 200318_be.accbd’ is not a valid path

It opens ok on the PC

I have updated linked tables and set it as the new data source

I have also tried storing the BE on a home group

If the backend is on your PC, the linkage to it should not be C:\users\mick\documents\d-clink Database\Direct v18 - 200318_be.accbd. You need to create a share on the PC, put the backend database into that share, so that the location will be something like \\machinename\sharename\Direct v18 - 200318_be.accbd. (You'd link to it through the Network, even on the PC)

Hopefully you're not using a wireless connection for your network: Access does not work well with WiFi!
