Hi all

I have a workbook with a worksheet for inputting requests for employee vacations. I have other worksheets in the same workbook that are named for each month and need to figure out how to add what I input on vacation input worksheet to the appropriate tab.

The input worksheet has Employee ID, full name, date of request, date requesting, type, etc.

Can someone please help to get me pointed in the right direction?

Thank a million!

Dan

Have you even considered using Access? Seems it would be the better tool for data storage. What will require some elaborate VBA in Excel would be simple query filters in Access.

  1. If you insist on using Excel, this would involve a multi-step process:
    1. Enter the Data into the Main Worksheet (Vacation Input Worksheet).
    2. Extract the Month from, I assume Date Requesting, from the Main Sheet.
    3. Based on the Extracted Month, activate the appropriate Worksheet (I assume they are named Jan, Feb, Mar...Dec).
    4. Activate the Month Worksheet.
    5. Determined the next available Row (without Data) in that Worksheet and transfer the Data from the Main Sheet (assume Columns are the same).
    6. Once transferred, Delete Data from the Main Sheet or maintain?
  2. If this is the approach that you will be using, uploading the Workbook without any Data in it would be very useful.

Hi all and thank you kindly for the reply. I am going to move this to access as will be much easier. I appreciate your responses nonetheless.

Kind regards,

Dan

I actually created a bare-bones Demo for you in case you wanted to still use Excel. If you are interested, simply enter Vacation Input Values into the Vacation Input Worksheet then click the Approve Vacation Command Button. If you are not interested, simply ignore this Reply.
