UtterAccess Forums _ Q & A - Hardware _ Can't Run My New Pc

Posted by: twinkleLeo92 Oct 30 2017, 02:39 PM

A few days ago I bought this keyboard and was using smoothly. Now I have an unknown problem! If I plugged this keyboard and trying to open my pc, my pc is not opening and if I connect that keyboard on my running pc, my pc will stop working, I can't able to do anything on my pc after disconnect it pc will work properly.

But on my another pc is working 100% properly with that keyboard and also I tried 3/4 pc there is no problem with that keyboard.

Q: Why getting trouble with that keyboard only my new pc, not others pc? Is there any hardware problem with my new pc?

Please give a better idea, what I should do?

Thanks for the help.

Have you checked your drivers? Perhaps you need to search the web for the driver for that particular keyboard and download it to your new pc.

What version of Windows is on each computer?

Are you saying that the keyboard worked at first, but then stopped working after a few days?

Hello River, Thanks for responding.

No, I didn't check the driver yet. Now I will check the driver and will search the internet for that keyboard driver.

Hello Grover, Thanks for helping me.

My new pc OS is Windows 10 pro 64bit and another on is windows 7.

Yeap, the keyboard was working with my new pc but now I can't use that keyboard with my new pc but others pc is okay. There is no problem with that keyboard.

Perhaps a recent Windows update altered a setting, then, it Windows 10.

Check that and search for drivers for the keyboard.

I don't have a solution, but I can say that I had a computer that was running smoothly for months with Win10 and recently just stopped working after an update, couldn't even log in anymore! So MS is definitely pushing updates that cause headaches.

I have heard of Windows 10 updates messing with peripherals, for example removing the functionality of certain buttons on monitors and such.
So I would agree with the others that from what you said this sounds like it is probably a Windows 10 problem.
However have you tried using another keyboard with your new rig, and did it work?
If not it may be worth trying a keyboard with a PS2 connector in case its something to do with the USB ports themselves.

Edit: Also what exactly are the symptoms?
You say the computer isn't working, is it just the keyboard or is the mouse freezing?
