UtterAccess Forums _ Graphics _ 3d Modelling Question

Posted by: ConorS Mar 3 2014, 11:01 AM

Hi
I have got myself Visual Studio 2012. It comes with expression Blend. I am trying to program Windows Presentation Foundation applications.
Anyway, i have no experience with 3d graphics before.
I am looking to do simple things with 3d modeling. For example, i'd like to create a company logo in 3d that rotates slowly in a window in WPF (logo is a crest like shape with 3d text in front of it).
Can these shapes be created in blend or do i need another program?
If so, what programs are out there you'd recommend? Costs? etc.
Regards
Conor

Humm , sounds fun ...
) I would consider making your base "3-d" image in GIMP ( free ) http://www.gimp.org/
2) Rotate the image using code similar to the example here:

It would be interesting to know how you work it out , please post back your final solution.
Thanks,
Keith

I'm going to start hoking at it (pushing buttons see what happens) with this over the coming weeks.
've googled this. And i've found a program called Blender.
Also, this program.

I have used Gimp before. I didn't know this could be done in it.
Ok, thanks man!
