Sorry for the late reply. The project took me other directions. My last iteration was similar to what you put Phil but it does not work. The subform flashes like it is requrying or filtering but the data does not change. No errors either. I have this on the after update action should it be "on change"

crazy.gif Thanks Phil. I had this working on other forms but not this one. Could not for the life of me see what I was missing. Why Microsoft chose to use functions with names so similar is beyond me. Then again I name controls with the only difference is txt or cbx depending what it is.
