While it is a bit challenging sometimes, we do learn and grow from stretching ourselves and our skill sets. I suspect this particular task is a case where there is no "simple" solution that is also reliable. If you invest some time, you'll probably be rewarded with good results from either Daniel's or Peter's suggestions. And you'll be more confident in the bargain.
