When the form has AllowAdditions, AllowEdits and AllowDeletion set to false AND controls are set to Locked, why do the ComboBox drop downs still work (even though it does not accept the clicks). And similarly the text boxes with Date type fields display the calendar (again it does not accept the date selected).

But this is really misleading for users. How do I get these two types of controls to not be active under such settings? I do not want to use Enabled = No as it greys out the control. Any other way?

If you set both Enabled = False and Locked = True, the Control will not be grayed out.

You can't set enabled to false. Set enabled to yes and locked to yes.

In Access 2013 for a textbox with date picker here is how it workes for me:

Enabled=Yes, Locked = Yes => date picker

Enabled=No, Locked = No => grayed out, no date picker

Enabled=No, Locked = Yes => no date picker and not grayed out

What I use to do what you want is set Enabled=No and Locked = Yes. Also, works with a Combobox to prevent the dropdown.

Thanks a Lot. Thats how I want it. I never thought of Enabled = No and Locked = Yes.
