UtterAccess Forums _ Microsoft PowerPoint _ Hyperlink Picture On Laptop To You Tube Video

Posted by: dcrennan68 Dec 10 2013, 01:40 PM

Hi!
I am creating a Power Point presentation for my job. On the 3rd page of the presentation is a picture which I hyperlinked to a You Tube video. It works on my PC, but when I saved the presentation to an external drive and put it in my laptop the You Tube video will not open during the slide show. I tried removing the hyperlink and reattaching it again while on my laptop, but it will still not work.
Also, is there a way make the video open in full screen instead of the whole You Tube page?
Thanks.

You'd have to provide us with your presentation or at the very least that single slide so we can see how you've set things up and offer alternatives.
Say I wanted to insert a hyperlink to a youtube video, such as:

HTML
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CF9n0B3MU_w

I would Highlight the text, or image, and select, from the Insert tab, the Hyperlink button and then enter the following into the Address: control
HTML
http://www.youtube.com/embed/CF9n0B3MU_w?rel=0&autoplay=1

This will work in most common browsers.
Another alternative is
HTML
https://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=CF9n0B3MU_w

I just tested both on 3 different computers and they work fine.

I would try Daniel's suggestion and make sure your laptop is connected to a network so you have internet access.
