Dennis was a moderator and editor who exhibited unfailing patience and understanding in trying to guide new members in their acquisition of Access and Excel skill and knowledge. We don't have details of his passing. Dennis will be sorely missed. Our best wishes, thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. Farewell, good friend. Dennis was among the best - his ability to work through normalization problems with new users never failed to amaze me and his dedication to music and the arts, as well as his ever-calm, polite and respectful demeanor here in the forums will be sorely missed. ![]() -------------------- Jack D. In addition to technical talks (Access or UtterAccess), we had good talks about Dr. Who. He definitely knew his stuff. -------------------- - Doug When I said the program was fool proof, I hadn’t realized there were so many fools. |

The world will miss him. Condolences to all family and friends. -------------------- Beer, natures brain defragging tool. |

Its sometimes worrying when someone disappears and I had noted the absence of Dennis and the site has been lesser for it. I always enjoyed collaborating and discussing with him, he was a good guy. Thanks for sharing your time and knowledge with us Dennis ![]() |

It wasn't that long ago we were messaging about the upcoming series of Doctor Who and the play he was going to be appearing in. I'll be thinking of Dennis when the new Doctor appears. He was indeed one of the greats here. Such patience and a kind soul with so much information to offer. Always a pleasure. He'll be massively missed. Rest in peace Doctor. I hope you get to be ginger next time. -------------------- Leigh Purvis | Microsoft MVP 2007 - 2018 | Access Examples |

I had wondered where Dennis had been lately - he was rarely away from the boards for long - but I just thought he might spending time with his plays or concerts. His enthusiasm will be sorely missed. My condolences to his loved ones. d -------------------- Regards, David Marten |

His knowledge was top tier, and his eclectic personality was always in evidence. Dennis and I shared a range of interests, vocations, and avocations beyond Access, including especially theater and music. I never met him, but it felt like kinship. Go well, fellow traveler. |

Now I know. And am sad. I may not miss him the most, but I miss him, again, already. A long time ago, when I had entertained being a 'programmer', I met a guy who I watched in marvel. A few others did as well. He proclaimed often in his signature, "Don't imitate me. Emulate me!" I never wished to BE Doctor9, but there are several times I wished for his patience and skill. And I will try and do better, for his memory, and my emulation. (I know you all can't tell, but there's a pause here while I type this. I have a lot of wishes, like how I wish I knew him better. I wish the best for his family. I wish... well, maybe those are private.) Godspeed, Doctor9. I'll be waiting for Doctor10 now. -------------------- "Nuclear" Nick ____________ The top three reasons to hide code; 1) It's not your own. 2) It's your own, but it's so crappy you don't want anyone to see it. 3) The comments in your code would get you in a lot of trouble if ever made public. |

That and being expert on a problem i was having with a problem I was working on. The combination of the two was incredibly helpful. I will definitely miss that. Grumpy |
