Im having trouble trying to do the following:

table2 contains [category] and [attachment] fields. table1 contains user records. The goal is to select a category in a user record and then pressing a command button to attach the matching attachment from table2. I could not get an update query to do this as I got errors at first saying I cannot update a multifield and then trying just the attachement filedata i would recieve a window asking for input for the filedata. We would like to store files in a table to make updating attachments easier and prevent the uploading of the wrong attachment to the user record.

Im can understand VBA but have no idea where to start.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mario. See the code behind this demo and let me know if you have any questions.

Multi value fields often have little idiosyncrasies.

Depending on how 'wedded' to them you are, it may be worthwhile re-designing the database.
