I have a couple of queries and a module and a table I am trying to sort on first the alphabet then the number and this works very slowly but query 3 double the amount of rows somehow from 393 to 6777
is there another way?
I would like to be able to append it to a temp table to use

Hi: I am not sure what you are asking, but take a look at the single-query approach in the revised db attached and see if this is what you are trying to do. It sorts on the alpha portion, then on the numeric portion, splitting the components using the UDF you included.

If this is not what you are trying to do, perhaps you could give us more explanation.

I can not believe how simple that was. What a dumb friend I am dunce.gif and it goes into my table nicely. Could not see the wood from the trees so to speak
Thank you for spending your time on such an obvious answer cheers.gif
