I had a form that was working perfectly. Now I get 3188 could not update; currently locked by another session on this machine.
Working on my laptop. only user.

error occurs on .edit

code;
Set rsViolations = CurrentDb.OpenRecordset("Select * FROM tblViolations WHERE ViolationID = " & ViolationID)
Do Until rsViolations.EOF
rsViolations.LockEdits = True
rsViolations.Edit

occurs on rsviolations.edit

you should have an Error handler to gracefully exit this
situation.

Hi: In your full code, do you have something like ...

rsViolations.Close
Set rsViolations = Nothing

... at the end?
