UtterAccess Forums _ Access Tables + Relationships _ Simple Relinking

Posted by: dynamicdave Oct 17 2019, 06:30 PM

I have seen a lot of tools.

In the past I have used a few myself.

I find it staggering how complex they are. Am I missing something or misunderstanding something?

Surely it should be as simple as get the application path.

Check if the table is there.

If it is reconnect.

If its not tell the user to get further help.

I am looking for something light and simple to package in with an app for the office.

Thanks

Hi. If you want a simple one, you should be able to create one with just the features you need. The other samples are probably created trying to cater to different scenarios, so they appear more complex than what you need. If you need help, maybe you can post what you have so far, and we can help you finish it.

Hi dynamicdave,

Well I guess it depends on just how simple you think it should be! Have you seen this http://www.rogersaccesslibrary.com/forum/back-end-relinker_topic184.html?SID=5038171dbdzd8caafzd8eb76ef4zd6896180556 which may (or may not) be simple enough.

But you should setup the links, and they shouldn't need to do anything, no?
