I can not figure this out. I have never experienced it before and it's driving me crazy.

Every time I try to build a macro my navigation pane greys out and becomes unselectable entirely. I really need it so that I can drag over the queries I want to run.

Interesting. I hadn't realized it was even possible to drag queries into the Macro Builder. Like many Access developers, though, I rarely even try to use macros except for a few really simple tasks like close buttons on forms.

That said, there must be something about the environment where this happens that differs.

For starters, when and how are you trying to create a macro this way? Did you launch the Macro Builder from the Ribbon?

Are you using an mdb or accdb format?

Does this happen in every accdb, or in only one?

We're looking for differences that might make this happen.

Thank you George.

I am launching the macro builder from within the form when trying to build an "on Load" procedure.

I am using accdb format. I have not had this problem with another accdb.

It's very strange!

This can happen if the form's modal property is set to true.
